Exhibition and Mural

 

My paintings for Central High School to encourage reading are installed in the school. On November 8th at 2:50pm I will be displaying paintings that are installed within the Central High School dance room. These paintings embrace the theme of teamwork through literacy. Students blast from stars to chase flowing pages. Beyond literacy, this project serves to show the limitless potential of young people through a fantastical lens. The stories in fantasy and science-fiction are metaphors for the dreams and hopes that we all have and the difficulties that we overcome. The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition Community Artist Partnership  Grant sponsored this project. The week of workshops in Hollywood was incredible. 

I was gratified to be a part of this inspiring week of workshops from the contest judges and celebration. I benefited from all of the workshop instructors and gained many tools for creating, submitting, sharing, protecting and promoting my art.

Open Studio and other news

 

My studio will be open during the Tulsa Artist Fellowship First Friday event on February 2nd from 6 -9pm.

 Displaying four mural paintings that were created for events at Lycée Paul Lapie and Ecollectif in France in 2021. Each painting depicts students inside of fantasy stories to encourage students to dive into the world of reading. The first Friday event is the first chance to see the paintings in America.

Murals for Tulsa Public Schools

Paintings installed in MacArthur Elementary School and Phoenix Rising High School in Tulsa,OK. Each painting depicts students from the school inside of fantasy and science-fiction stories to encourage students to dive into the world of reading. Students helped paint on the border panels.

The Great Escape, Oil, 4 x 6 feet

Based on a survey that students at MacArthur Elementary took, this painting highlights popular book subjects of animals and adventure at the school. As crocodiles approach a group of children fly above on wild animals.

To the Sky, Oil, 3 x 5 feet

Based on a survey that students at MacArthur Elementary took, this painting highlights popular book subjects of dragons at the school. Students take a limitless flight into the sky on the back of a wild dragon.

To the Rescue, Oil, 4 x 6 feet

Based on a survey that students at Phoenix Rising High School took, this painting highlights a popular book subject of heroes at the school. As a snake strikes, a hero breaks through just in time.
